The Vice President of Programs is responsible for the development and delivery of monthly chapter meetings and is also responsible for the entire “monthly meeting experience.”
Follows Chapter bylaws, policies and procedures; strive to fulfill the Chapter’s mission, values, and strategic plans.
Facilitates all aspects of the monthly chapter meetings. This includes pre-dinner education, dinner presentation, sponsors, logistics, catering, etc. (i.e. being in charge of the entire evening event).
Provides leadership and guidance for chapter meetings. Meet financial goals for chapter meetings by making good business decisions.
Oversees and supports Breakfast Roundtables.
Sets overall direction, assess and evaluate chapter meetings are addressing membership needs.
Establishes a Volunteer Committee to support and orchestrate chapter meetings.
Creates and documents processes and procedures for chapter meetings that are repeatable and sustainable by volunteers.
Designs chapter meetings to provide network opportunities and learning experiences from subject-matter experts as well as professional peers.
Prepares the annual Programs budget and submits to VP Finance.
Support Programs VP with chapter meeting activities.
Fill in for other program directors as needed.
Work with Director of Speaker Bureau to coordinate speakers for monthly meetings.
Coordinates all necessary speaker enrollments for presentation, gathers speaker presentation in electronic format for posting, and coordinates equipment needs.
Create slideshow presentation for monthly meetings.
Work with Director of Events and Director of Marketing for monthly meetings.
Promote an informal gathering of 10 to 20 project oriented persons (typically from diverse disciplines & companies) to discuss current topics in our profession, receive suggestions from other attendees on your current project challenges and to receive information on items of interest.
Increase opportunities for roundtable attendees to network and grow professionally.
Update Webmaster and Newsletter Editor on changes to roundtables times and location.
Support each roundtable leader.
Maintain the Roundtable email correspondence.
Interact with the hosts to make sure there are adequate facilitators and backup staff to provide facilities, meals, security, and consistency among the venues.
Share best practices for facilitation, networking, job hunting, continuing education, and trends in the PM field.
Escalate concerns from the hosts as they arise.
Encourage new venues for the Roundtable Model within local companies by providing Ground Rules and Agendas to all inquiries.
Introduce Project Management to professionals in other fields, and provide an open entry to the practice.
Promote the Professionalism and Business Value of the PM discipline.
Continually validate with peers that each Roundtable event is recognized as an asset to the Chapter/Component.
