PMI-Portland is a local chapter of the international organization, PMI (Project Management Institute.) The Portland Chapter prides itself on being an active and growing project management community and is one of the largest chapters in the Pacific Northwest.

Network of Project Management Professionals
PMI-Portland is made up of project management professionals from many different organizations. Chapter members have years of project management expertise across numerous industries. Networking with others provides an opportunity to share best practices and ideas.
Professional Development
PMI-Portland offers local PMP Certification courses to help project managers prepare for taking the PMP exam. Areas of study include: Framework and Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Communications, Procurement, Risk, Human Resources and Quality. At least four (4) full-day and half-day workshops are also offered each year, with topics such as Implementing the PMBOK, Organizational Politics and Working with Virtual Teams. Details.
Discounts on chapter events like monthly chapter meetings, Project Management certification prep courses, educational seminars and workshops
Chapter members receive substantial discounts on chapter events like monthly chapter dinner meetings, professional certification classes (PMP, CAPM, etc.), and Project Management training classes and workshops.
Monthly Roundtables
PMI-Portland sponsors roundtables in several locations throughout the Portland metro area. Check the chapter events calendar for dates. These roundtable sessions enable project managers to discuss real-world issues with peers. Details.
PMI-Portland Monthly Newsletter
PMI-Portland members receive a monthly newsletter which communicates valuable chapter information. The newsletter generally includes details on the upcoming chapter dinner meeting, announcements of other events, interesting professional articles, membership and certification updates, and much more. Employers may post positions with the Chapter (at no cost), which are then e-mailed to participating chapter members. Details.

Retired members pay just $60 (U.S.) per year for PMI membership.
Must be a PMI member in good standing for five consecutive years and have retired from active employment.

Student: Join PMI as a student member for just $30 (U.S.) per year, plus a $10 application fee for new members.
Membership is open to any student enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited, or global equivalent, college or university.
