PRESIDENT,
Steve Thornton

Steve has worked in Engineering and Program Management for various organizations, most recently as an NPI Program Manager in the Capitol Equipment industry, where he manages cross-functional teams in the development and deployment of new products. He has also been a Flight Instructor in the Portland area for 10 years, where he developed training programs and delivered technical and safety seminars. Steve has extensive experience and background in building strong teams and driving innovation. He served the Portland PMI Chapter as the Director EPMA since 2008. Steve enjoys the cultural and outdoor activities in the Northwest. In his free time, Steve enjoys flying, the Oregon Symphony, and water sports.

PRESIDENT ELECT,
Alan John, PMP

Alan John photo

Alan has worked and lived in the  Portland area for over 25  years. He worked for Intel Corporation as a quality assurance manager,  program and project manager, and engineering and operations manager. Alan spent many years working with company executives, project managers and engineers around the world developing highly effective teams while at Intel. Today he works in the public sector as an Information Services Manager supporting offices within Oregon Public Health and recently the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), where he plans and provides project and support resources for the many data systems within the OHA areas. Alan also served the Portland PMI Chapter as the Secretary from 2007 through 2009.  He is a Navy Veteran serving from 1971–1977.  Other volunteer activities include the immediate past president of the Civil Tongues Toastmaster Club and the current Assistant Director of the Tigard Harley Owners Group.  He  enjoys any excuse for a  road trip with his wife on his Harley Davidson and spending a lot of time with his family.

Shancy has been a member of PMI for over 10 years, and has served other organizations in the past in a Treasurer capacity, as well as other Board member positions. She has over 20 years of experience in IT operations and IT project management and is interested in continuing to contribute to the success of the PMI Portland Chapter. She has served in the VP of Finance capacity for the past two years and is honored to serve as the Secretary of PMI Portland for 2011-2012.  

Shancy values the opportunities presented through volunteering and is committed to working with the Board to pursue the strategic initiatives set out for the Chapter.

Jeff Henderson, PMP

Jeff Henderson photo

Jeff Henderson is a project manager with 20 years PM experience in aerospace, semi-conductor, and government entities performing construction, maintenance, and production management responsibilities for various projects and programs.  He has managed construction management organizations, major machine tool maintenance organizations, product production, and facilities management organizations for Boeing, Intel and Gulfstream Aircraft over the past 20 years.

Jeff holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineer, an MBA and is a certified PMP.

Bob is an Analyst in the Project Portfolio Office with the Port of Portland managing a $700 million portfolio of capital projects.  Bob has 12 years of project management experience at the Port of Portland, Regence, Agilent Technologies, First American Financial, Digital Island, Benova, Vantive, and the Alyeska Pipeline Company. 

Bob has an MBA from Portland State University and is an Eagle Scout.  Bob likes to volunteer in the community and enjoys reading, board games with his son, and camping or hiking.

Dave Molinari, PMP

Dave has worked in the high-tech industry for nearly twenty years at companies such as Mentor Graphics, Tektronix, and Intel.  For the past 10 years, he has worked in the IT industry at Intel where he managed technical support and software development teams.  Dave also lived and worked for Intel for 5 years in Russia where he ran three major projects that built new organizations and drove them to world-class success.  

He spends his free time coaching little league, writing about Russian politics, culture, and his life in the country. Dave loves to build organizations, lead people, and fix stubborn problems. Now back in Portland, Project Management has become his primary pursuit professionally.

Karel Rasovsky has extensive experience in strategic portfolio planning, program management and leading the deployment of NPI and global marketing programs in the high technology sector. His diverse experience includes Fortune 500 companies, as well as entrepreneurial firms. Karel enjoys building empowered, high-performing teams, coaching and mentoring, and managing organizational change to enable people and businesses to achieve their best.

In his free time, Karel enjoys spending quality time with his family, the great northwest outdoors, travel, writing and learning more about his community through volunteer work at his son’s school and Boy Scout troop. He started volunteering for the PMI Portland Chapter as the Director of Sponsor Programs in 2009.

Brad is a PMP with over 15 years of experience managing projects and programs for small and large companies.  He has hosted the chapter roundtable at SolarWorld since inception.  His degree is in Electronics Engineering and he has been heavily involved with Boy Scouts of America for six years.

Linda Read, PMP

Linda Read photo

Second generation in the electric utility industry, Linda Read has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Portland State University, and has further formal education in completed professional programs in Human Resources Management, Marketing and Project Management.  As of 2009, she is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with global credential.  Since joining PGE in 1982, has gained a diverse electrical utility experience with positions held within Human Resources, Information Technology, Telecommunication, Economic Development and currently as a Business Unit Manager for Portland General Distribution Services.  Linda has utilized her broad utility knowledge and project management experience to focus on delivering the highest quality of distribution products and services with an objective of on time and within budget targets.

Linda offers and delivers cost effective, comprehensive solutions to customers for all their electrical needs; services range from design and installation of preventative maintenance, construction and outage restoration services.  She is an enthusiastic resource for environmental issues relating to electrical equipment, ensuring that the environmental is safeguarded and associated regulatory requirements are met.  Has valuable experience and insights into economic vitality and works directly with business customers on a broad range of topics affecting their business operations.

Diane Brady, CSM

Diane has over 15 years of project management and consulting experience working in the ERP software and Information Technology industry. This includes direct involvement in all aspects of managing and executing software implementations, software integrations and software development related projects, as well as evangelizing and providing leadership for PMO initiatives and standards. Diane is also a certified ScrumMaster trained in mentoring teams and keeping them focused, driving project success. Diane is currently the PMI Portland project manager for the Professional Development Day (PDD) conference for 2010. She comes to the current VP of Professional Development position with prior board experience as Treasurer, Membership Director, and Development Director with other organizations. Prior to consulting, Diane held financial and managerial positions such as CFO, Business Manager and related management positions. Diane's passion for and proven track record in developing methodology and system process improvements was a key factor that lead her to consulting in 1995. Diane is a firm believer in coaching and mentoring others to achieve their best with a firm dose of accountability thrown in!

Christi has worked in project management since 1999 for such companies as Rockwell Collins, ETEC Systems, HP, and Oregon Aero. She received her BS in Electronic Engineering in 1998, her MBA in Technology Management in 2003, and her Masters in Project Management in 2010. She started volunteering for the chapter as the Volunteer Recognition Program Manager in 2010 and took over the position of VP of Programs in 2011.

Christi’s hobbies include painting, traveling, writing, and walking her dog.
